ONE DAY I WILL WRITE A POEM- by Olulu- Poet of d Week 220914

One day I will write a poem
it is not necessarily a poem to make you laugh or cry,
it’s just a poem about being scared to express my frustrations,
my fears,
my doubts,
because of the many dreams now tied to mine.
If I tell them the many battles I fight within,
won’t it scare them off?
Won’t it discourage them?
Won’t it stop them from chasing their dreams?

One day I will write a poem
it won’t be a poem to make you laugh or cry,
but simply a poem about the feeling I feel
when I feel a feeling
that I have never felt before.
No, the feeling is not love.
It’s a feeling of being helpless, yet fearless.
Breathless and speechless,
Expectant, yet dependent.
Hmm, maybe it is not a feeling after all,
it’s a decision.

One day I will write a poem
it won’t be a poem to make you laugh or cry,
its a poem about how like an unwanted bride,
I have come to accept sleepless nights.
She consumes me and leaves me spent in the mornings.
She is insatiable and I’m unable to resist her

One day I will write a poem
not a poem that will make you laugh or cry
but a poem about the addiction of passion,
the hyper activeness it gives to the addict,
the unwavering desire for more of it
and the need to get another high when you achieve your goal.

One day I will write a poem
not be a poem that will make you laugh or cry
just a poem about friends,
friends that stick close to you like family
friends that give you their all and much more even before you ask for it.

One day I write a poem
not a poem to make you laugh or cry
it’s a poem that you would want to understand
all these scribbling and ranting
so you wait and read till the end.
But you will have to wait some more,
because this is not the day I write the poem.
