TOP 50 CONTEMPORARY POETS WHO ROCKED NIGERIA IN YEAR 2014

Source: Poet's Radio

Perhaps one of the most truthful cliché in life is that life is not fair: with the recent increase in the number of poets showing their skills in various degrees and platforms an unbiased thinking person will know that it is very difficult to carry out survey and appreciate these talents without an element of complain in some quarters. But a close look at other industries, say Music, you will see that a person may win a particular award but not win similar category in other awards... Yet we believe the people (mostly fellow Poets) who respond to our call for nomination of poets for the yearly ranking are unbiased and have the interest of the listed poets at heart just like we do at EGC. And we appreciate the time they took in nominating these Poets. The nominations this year were better than previous years (To read previous years please click Top2013 or Top2012)
We also believe that if Poets work together in creating mediums where fellow Poets are appreciated and promoted without bias or sentiments it will ultimately add to the development of what we do.

Collectively the #EGCtop50 will be listed based on highest points received in nominations. To read EGC FAQ or how Poets were ranked please click FAQ. And for this year, we’ll first look at 4 categories which are Written, Spoken, Promotion, and Cross Over in poetry. To view the TOP 5 IN EACH CATEGORY please click.
Let us stress again that like every other kind of award/rankings element of luck applies, as well as influence of readership/followership/respondents. Hence it will be proper to say this Top 50 list embodies opinions of friends, fans, and associates of EGC media… better stated, it embodies opinion of people who appreciate what we are doing at EGC media and what the listed Poets are doing with their Poetry.
